RECIPE CELERIAC FRIES

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 gram Celeriac
  • Extra virgin Olive oil
  • 1/2 tbsp Paprika powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Dried thyme
  • 1/2 tbsp Dried rosemary
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Salt, to taste

METHOD

  1. Line a baking tray with aluminium foil or parchment paper.
  2. Cut the celeriac in round slices of about 1cm thick. Peel the celeriac. (alternatively you can peel the celeriac before slicing them, See Notes)
  3. Cut the celeriac slices into fries. You can cut them into your desired shape.
  4. Pour a little bit extra virgin olive oil on the baking tray. Place the fries on the tray. Sprinkle with the spices and herbs, add a little more extra virgin olive oil and combine until everything is coated. Spread all on the baking tray so nothing is double-layered. (Add salt after baking! See Notes).
  5. Place into the oven for 45 minutes. After 25 minutes take a look and turn the fries around. Place back into the oven for another 15-20 min or until crispy.
  6. Serve with lemon garlic sauce and enjoy!

NOTES

  • Peeling: only peel the whole celeriac if you plan on using the whole celeriac. Otherwise the vegetable will dry out.
  • Seasoning: you can omit or substitute the paprika powder with your desired spices. Garlic, cumin or 7 spices would taste amazing!
  • Salt: only add the salt after baking

I hope you enjoy this healthy oven roasted Celeriac Fries recipe as much as me and my family do!

Happy cooking!
